Recently, the 2025 National Vegetable Registration Variety On-site Observation Meeting was held in Changqing, Jinan. The purpose of this observation meeting is to focus on the development trends of high-quality registered varieties in the industry, showcase the advantages of non-major crop registered varieties, and provide support for subsequent variety research and development as well as market promotion. The observation meeting featured a concentrated display of numerous mainstream vegetable registered varieties, covering the planting needs of various regions, and attracted experts from agricultural and rural departments, representatives of seed enterprises, and large-scale growers from various parts of the country.

Researcher Liang Fengchen, Vice Chairman of Shandong Seed Co., Ltd., was invited to participate in this observation meeting. Led by Liang Fengchen, the research team from Lushan Seed Research and Development Center visited the field exhibition area. Through on-site observation of plant growth, sampling inspection of quality indicators, and recording of growth cycle data, they focused on evaluating the disease resistance, stress resistance, yield stability, and commercial morphology of various varieties. During the field investigation, Researcher Liang Fengchen shared with the participants the planting practice results of several new and excellent vegetable varieties such as the Quanfu series cabbage, Dongyixin, Xiawei green onions, and Feilunmei wrinkled leafy vegetables developed by the provincial company. At the same time, they collected first-hand feedback from customers on the varieties, laying a foundation for further optimization and market promotion of the varieties.

Researcher Liang Fengchen stated that this observation meeting served as a crucial window for the provincial company to stay abreast of the national trends in vegetable variety development. It allowed for timely grasp of the industry's new directions and provided essential insights for the company to refine its variety breeding strategies and enhance the competitiveness of its registered varieties. Moving forward, the company will leverage the outcomes of this observation to accelerate the iterative upgrading of high-quality varieties, thereby contributing to the enhancement of quality and efficiency in Shandong's vegetable industry and promoting the modernization of regional agriculture.
